You will understand true freedom when you understand impermanence. At any moment life can change from conditions that allow you to live to conditions that don’t. The real question is do you truly understand this? Conditions that don’t support life will change for many today, if you understand this can occur at anytime, it will allow you to let go of all the nonsense you think you need for your life to be. The only place of true freedom is in this understanding.

Conditions will not always be favorable to support your current existence and one day life in this form will end. It’s not a bad or good thing, it’s just the way it is. One day conditions were right and your current existence began. If you’re reading this conditions have been favorable up to this point to allow you to remain in your current form of existence. But it will not be this way forever. When you know your current form of existence to be temporary, how can you not be grateful and know that now is the only moment that ever is. Death is not death, it’s merely existence of a changing condition. Things exist, than conditions change and so does their existence. When a beautiful flower grows and you cut it to put it a vase, you don’t think of killing the flower, but you have changed the conditions for the flower to continue its existence in its current form. The moment it’s cut its existence has been altered. The key is to enjoy the beauty of the flower in its current form. Impermanence is our freedom. It’s in our freedom that we discover love, and it’s in our love that we understand what it means to truly live…

Not Mind What Happens

To not create stories you have to not mind what happens. Whenever you want things different your power is transferred to whatever it is that’s wanted different and hence your story is created…

If you don’t see the story that you create, it becomes you and it takes you on the ride of whatever the story is. There’s story after story of something that happened in the past. There’s the story of your favorite team playing or work. How about the family story or the story of just wanting things different. The stories shape your life because of attachment not because of what happens. These attached stories are where emotions arise from, they’re where fear, discontent, and anger form and gain power. This is what attachment does, it takes the power away from you and hands it over to the attachment. Without attachment you have the power of how what happens in your life affects you; not so when there’s attachment. You cannot relinquish control without attaching a story to what happens.

This is how it works, throughout the day if there isn’t discipline in place to remain present, the story begins and your power gets transferred to attachment. It doesn’t matter what the story is, that you have transferred your power to an outside source is what matters. It’s outside because objects, people, and circumstances control you and here’s the kicker, your own mind has done this. The first thing is to understand what’s written here so you see what’s happening. Think of this as it’s summertime, as you tend to your lawn you may not be able to get rid of all the dandelions, but if you learn to not mind them the story that they’re a problem won’t be a created. Basically what has to be done in order not to create stories is you have to not mind what happens. If you want things to be different, your power will be transferred to whatever it is that’s wanted different. So watch your stories, don’t mind what happens and even though you may have a lawn full of dandelions, it won’t matter all that much…

Body Present

When the body is used as an anchor to remain present, you begin living in the only place of existence; where your feet are. In this space one finds love, not the story of love, but the love of right now where nothing else exist…

There’s no reason whatsoever that a person has to suffer today because there’s enough info available to prevent it; this is a truth that one must find for themselves. No book, video, guru, religion, self proclaimed enlightened teacher, 12 step program, or anything else can show you truth, they can only point the way and that’s it. What I know today has always been there, but even though I’ve been pointed in the same direction for years it’s message did not click with me until I was ready to see it. It may not always be understood why I do what I do or say what I say, but if you knew what I knew, you would see what I see.

I see much unnecessary suffering in the world today even with those who proclaim they’re awake. It doesn’t take much to know whether one is truly awake, all that needs to be seen is where one’s attachments are and suffering will not be far behind. If you want to stop suffering stop using the mind and learn to use the body. The body is always in the present moment. It’s why the breath is used in meditation, you can’t take a past or future breath, you can only breathe now. When the body is used as an anchor to remain present the mind made suffering loses it power and you begin living your life in the only place it exist; where your feet are. In this space one finds true love, but this isn’t a story of love, it’s the love of the present moment where nothing else exist…

Lost in Belief

When there’s a belief you need something to provide peace, you’re lost in this thought. Until this is understood you’ll remain lost in the belief that peace is outside of you…

There will never be peace in your life as long as you’re lost in the belief that peace is outside of you. Peace is something that’s already within everyone, but because of the way our minds are conditioned we get lost in the thought that peace is something to find. Unfortunately beliefs are what makes the very thing you’re seeking elusive. Beliefs are the reason one is constantly reaching for something outside and until these beliefs are no more, you’ll remain lost in the thought that peace is in the next thing reached for. This can’t be stressed enough as these belief thoughts have to be seen if you’re to ever experience true peace.

The thought of being at peace isn’t peace. What has to happen if peace is to ever be experienced is there has to be an understanding of how beliefs block your peace. The reason why peace is elusive is because of the inability to just be. When the need to reach for something arises becoming lost in a belief begins; this is a conditioned cycle that’s very difficult to break. Peace isn’t something that can be manufactured so it’s in doing less that peace arises. Many get lost in trying to find peace, but since it’s already within the belief associated with finding it needs to be discarded so you can uncover the reason why you’re lost in the belief you’re not at peace…

Developed Programming

As we grow up we develop in a way that the programming in place allows for the development to be as it is. Simply put, if our programming was based in loved we would develop as a being of love…

As I look back, I see how much of the programming I developed was just a part of what was there growing up. Not particularly right or wrong especially because there wasn’t much that could have been done differently. It’s very difficult to act in a loving manner if that’s not the programming in place as one grows up. Some things are learned naturally, but everything takes some kind of practice to become a habit. If you’re learning how to catch a baseball, at first it’s probably awkward with no knowledge as to the best way to do it, but the more you do it the more natural it becomes. This is a good thing if what you’re learning is based in love. But part of the problem is when what’s developed isn’t based in love because unfortunately it too becomes natural; this is why it’s so hard to change. I knew what was beneficial (loving) and what wasn’t growing up, but doing what was loving was not what was developed so being selfish was natural to me; there wasn’t anybody who could tell me different because that’s all I knew.

To say the least, this non loving development caused much suffering because with this programming in place, there wasn’t any room for much else. This is the merry go round most people are unknowingly on and it’s a direct result of why humanity is the way it is. If we all grew up with our development based in loved, humanity would be much different, it’s that simple. I know this because thirteen years ago I began developing a different base (one of love) and lo and behold things began changing. It doesn’t mean it’s always this way, but just as it is with learning to catch a baseball, it takes practice. And in this case it’s done so the loving behavior becomes as natural as my earlier development of being selfish was…

Opening Heart

What occurs when one awakens is there’s an opening of the heart. This allows the truth that has always been there to be known so where you were once blind you now see…

People think you change when something becomes obvious, but the essence of what truly happens is there’s an opening of the heart to see what has always been there. It’s not really a change that occurs, it’s an opening from delusional thinking to an innerstanding of the true nature of the heart. Your heart cannot open if you don’t know yourself and you cannot know yourself if you don’t innerstand how the Conditioned Mind blocks the heart from opening. The reason why this opening is so difficult is because the mind has been conditioned by evil energy to remain distracted by the distractions of your distractions. This energy tells you everything is okay, and as long as you think what you’re doing is pleasurable there’s no need to look within because you’re okay as you are.

Truly looking at yourself is not pleasurable, especially when it’s first started; that’s why many are hesitant to do it. It’s much easier and pleasurable to be controlled by evil energy and have an out there view and do what someone else tells you. But life is only beneficial when you live from a self reflected open heart. A step into the unfamiliar will need to be taken so you can get to know yourself.

The mind defaults naturally to your conditioning because it’s what’s there. But honest self reflection opens the heart and allows for truth to be known. When truth is known, what happens is the veil of evil energy is removed and where you were once blind you now see. This is not really a change as much as it’s an opening of the heart that allows the truth that has always been there to be known…

Formed Beliefs

Every belief is formed for one reason and that’s to make you think life is better. If it was this easy you could just go around making up beliefs whenever life wasn’t going the way you thought it should be…

There are very few hard line facts in a belief so what is it that makes a person think a belief is needed to make life better? The only reason beliefs are made up to begin with is because of the way our minds have been programmed. They’re used to keep the mind in a state of agitation by making one believe things need to be different for life to be better. It’s what the ego uses to keep one in bondage to a self that doesn’t exist. This is how most wars are started, because of an ego that forms beliefs. And whatever the belief is whether it’s in a God that’s going to make things better, a superior race or the annihilation of one that will make things better, it all stems from one’s own programming of believing if things were different life would be better.

To believe or not to believe, that is the question. It really has nothing to do with the belief, but it does have everything to do with trying to arrange life and thinking if things were different it would be better. This is what needs to be discovered if the falseness of a belief is to be revealed. If attaching to a belief is found to make life better by all means believe, but for me I would have to say life is better without forming beliefs; especially that they exist only in my mind. If beliefs are seen to be real and have some facts to back them up, believe them, attach to them, use them, but in truth don’t be surprised if when they are needed to fall back on to make life better, they don’t do what was believed they were going to do…

A Beneficial Direction

Our answers are always within, one just needs to make sure you’re heading in a direction that’s the most beneficial to your life…

Looking back I can see I had a definite direction I wanted my life to go when I begin the study of my own mind. There weren’t any lofty goals to achieve anything or some great state of mind to make my life about something in particular, all I wanted was a direction that provided a peace that eluded me for most of my life. This is still my direction today, but just because one is on a so called spiritual path, it doesn’t mean the direction your heading is beneficial to you. I did things for years that I was told were right and it turned out not to be so beneficial; these things actually kept me in bondage. I won’t go into details, but what I do today is beneficial and how I know this is because I’m at peace and don’t have a real desire for anything else. I have passion in my heart for things, but not an aching because I need this moment to be different. I’m not looking for anything, that’s how I know the direction is healthy.

You may be reading all the books, quoting all the right people, and putting all your energy into this direction, but the question is can you stop it all and still be at peace. If not your direction is only being used as a distraction. I was distracted for forty nine years so I know what I’m talking about. If you’re not at peace, your direction isn’t working. All things are pointers, but the misdirection is in thinking the pointers are the answers. The answers are always within, one just needs to make sure you’re heading in a direction that’s the most beneficial to your life…

Doing Nothing

Without awareness of the mind becoming agitated because of the need to do something, the Conditioned Mind will create story after story just to fulfill this agitation…

The most difficult thing to do in life is to learn how to do nothing in spite of the conditioning in place telling you to do. To not give in to the mind agitations that tell you to do this or that, reach for this or that, is so difficult because of the lack of discipline to just be and also the lack of understanding of why not to do is so difficult. Even with discipline and this understanding, it’s difficult because of all the outer influences and inner conditioning. To not do is not something many master, I’m not talking about sitting in meditation or taking a nap, I mean being wide awake without having to do something. For forty nine years this wasn’t noticeable to me because I was never still long enough to be aware of any mind agitations. I like so many was a doer; a slave to my Conditioned Mind.

For some this doing doesn’t seem like much of an issue because the doings aren’t noticeably destructive. But make no mistake a doing is a doing and one is a slave to doing regardless how productive or subtle it may seem. Without awareness of the mind becoming agitated in the absence of something to do, the Conditioned Mind creates story after story just so it has something to do; the stories base will be whatever conditioning you have in place. You can only do what the conditioning in place dictates and without this agitation being noticed, the conditioning is usually based in doing something for self satisfying reasons. Even if you want to save the world, who says the world needs saving. Not doing allows for you to truly be an instrument, but not by doing by simply being; this will only occur if you notice you don’t have to do…

Attached Conditioning

Whatever you attach to becomes your prison, if you don’t stop attaching and create some space to make room in your heart for love, you are the one who will suffer the most…

The choice to attach is the choice to suffer. The problem with this is there really isn’t a choice because of the way one’s Conditioned Mind is in control; suffering is inevitable because of the conditioned attachment in place. If this is to change you will have to make room in your heart so the attachment is replaced by first stillness and then love. There’s no way around this, attach to whatever the flavor of the day, week, month, or year is, just understand when that attachment passes something else will have to replace it. Today it’s our president, tomorrow it’s a co worker, or something else and the next day and the next and so on, ad infinitum. This will never change until there is space created in the heart that makes room for love and if you attach to one individual and bemoan them, you don’t truly have the space for a loving heart. This is strong language, but it’s true.

True love can only be without one iota of conditioning. This is a truth the Conditioned Mind doesn’t allow to be seen. I can say I have love for all humanity, what I don’t love is humanity’s conditioning. But I understand it and my responsibility is to not be a part of it. To attach is to suffer regardless of who or what one attaches to because it becomes your prison. Until this is understood you become the very thing that you show disdain towards. This is part of the law of attraction, you cannot be separate from the energy that comes from you. Stop attaching and make room in your heart for love because if you don’t, you are the one who will suffer the most…

May Not Be So

Disdain last for years because of the energy it’s given. Until it’s realized what you think “May Not Be So” it’ll remain. This causes harm because this energy has a beginning, but it doesn’t have an end…

What’s often seen as the beginning is also the path to the end, but only if it’s not attached to. This is not to be looked at as negative because without a beginning there can be no end. To me life’s greatest truth can be summed up in four words “May Not Be So”. This resonated with me because it’s how it is with just about everything. Most of what is seen is interpreted differently than what it actually is. One would be better off if “May Not Be So” was applied to what was first seen before attaching a label and running with it as truth. Labels are applied conditionally and once this happens the label is given life. If you feel lost that’s not the energy given to you from life, it’s the energy of what the Conditioned Mind is projecting on you. If it was possible to just let things play out without attaching to them life would be much different. There’s immense value in pausing and saying “May Not Be So” because it creates space so the incessant thoughts don’t control.

When a thought arises this is the beginning, if it’s not given energy it’s also the end. This is how a bought is inherently until one’s conditioning steps in and gives the thought life. The thing is when a thought is given life it takes on a story all its own which 99.9999% of the time “May Not Be So”. I won’t say 100% because not much of anything is 100%. But the fact is what one gives energy to “May Not Be So” and until this is seen there will be a beginning, but you won’t know if it will end. Disdain can last for years because of the energy it’s given. Until it’s realized what you think “May Not Be So” it will be. All this does is cause harm because this energy has a beginning, but it doesn’t have an end…

Trust the Moment

Happiness is a by product of love. It’s not something that can be forced to happen. It will only happen when you trust the moment to produce it as opposed to trying to force it…

We can try and force things to happen in our life or we can trust the moment. Trusting the moment produces a much different living arrangement than forcing it. Instead of the constant tugging, there’s a certain ease when you trust. The tugging is produced directly from trying to force things. Trusting the moment produces the opposite, both are within your grasp. It’s a matter of what you truly want in your life.

You will know what you want by what it is you pay attention to. The things that you pay attention become the base of life. If you always pay attention to wanting the pleasures of life than self serving energy will be your base. If you always pay attention to how can you bring more love into the lives of all beings than that energy will be your base. To be free of the self serving mind is to stop trying to force happiness. To cultivate a mind that looks how it can love more produces a life that’s based in trust. When you stop trying to force your happiness, it is than that you will be happy; it’s a by product of trusting the moment…

Universal Laws

Universal Laws put you in harmony with life, so take heed and understand life doesn’t do anything to you, but if you break its laws it will certainly seem like it does…

Universal Laws are in place that put you in harmony with life and they’re also in place to offer protection against certain behavior. These laws when adhered to within their boundaries, allow for life to be lived to the fullest. But the mind has to be open and free flowing for the adherence to these laws to take place. There are also man made laws that align to these Universal Laws, but many of them are broken which blocks life from being as beneficial as it could be. The more one adheres to selfish behaviors the less chance there is to be in harmony with Universal Laws. When things are used and abused to satisfy self this blocks harmony with life. The animal realm adheres to Universal Laws and because of this there’s balance. Unfortunately the human conditioning relies to much on their intellect and not enough on the Universe.

Life will mostly be lived in one of two ways, acting in ways that allows alignment with Universal Laws or not. A quiet mind can see this to a degree and slowly stops doing the things that block Universal Laws from being adhered to. As long as one is alive, life will be lived, but in what way determines your actions and consequences. Go fifty five mph in a twenty five mph zone and regardless if you get a speeding ticket or not, you will be out of harmony with the law in place. So take heed and understand life really doesn’t do anything to you, but if you break the law it will certainly seem like it does…

Society's Normal

What’s considered normal by society entraps most people to the idea of what others think normal is. Unless this can be seen so you can go beyond it, there will be acceptance of someone else’s idea of normal…

Stepping outside of what’s considered normal as far as thinking goes is a must if one is to go beyond the trap of society’s considered normal. You may ask why would a person want to go beyond what’s considered normal and here’s why, what’s considered the so called norm is based in form and to be attached to form causes suffering. It’s as simple as that. With the normal attachment to the senses (form), life will still occur, it just won’t be experienced as fully as it can be. There will still be experiences, how can there not be with one being alive. But they will be dictated by form and there’ll be much nonsense associated with them. The perceived normal entraps one to what others think is considered normal and unless one can see this to go beyond it, there will be acceptance of someone else’s idea as your own. It’s an easy trap to get pulled in to because the bait is so enticing.

This plays right into the reward system that is considered society’s normal; who does anything that doesn’t have the reward of pleasure associated with it. This can be applied to just about anybody and anything. When was the last time you purposely did something that you knew was going to be unpleasant with no reward attached to it. This is pivotal in understanding the process of the Conditioned Mind because until you can just be with whatever arises, without judging it or associating it with pleasure, society’s normal syndrome will be what dictates your life and it will probably be someone else’s idea of what is considered normal…
