The Best Choices

Since the mind that tells you to do something is the same mind that questions why it was done, it’s very difficult to be sure the choices made are actually for the best…

You think every choice made is the best one. If you didn’t think that you wouldn’t make it, but just because you think it’s best that doesn’t mean it actually provides the most benefits. What’s of real importance is if the choices made are truly the best. Many choices made aren’t always the best, why do you think this is so? If you were really in control of your life, you would never make a choice that wasn’t beneficial. Dream your dreams, do your good deeds, but the question always comes back to what are the motives behind the choices made? That will determine not so much if you make the best choices, but if choices made are a benefit to all beings.

To understand this you will have to investigate your own mind and the motives behind your choices. Choices will be made based on conditioning, that’s what applies the label of best. Because most people are controlled by their self-serving conditioning, choices are usually of the self-serving variety. Most choices are based on this and they’re not the always the best and most beneficial, but they are the choices made so live with it, accept it, and move on. Just understand the motives behind them, and you will not only make the best choices, but you will also make the ones that are the most beneficial to you and to all beings…
