Being With What's Here

The gauge of a successful life is how much you can be with what’s here as it occurs. If you don’t agree keep living in the past or future and see how successful your life is when it’s time for it to end…

Being with what’s here is our purpose. You can make up another purpose in your head, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the Universe’s purpose. Regardless of what you think or make up, you can only be with what’s here. Don’t wish for things to be different or the way you think they should be, don’t go back and try the impossible task of changing the past. Don’t make up a story of what your life’s purpose is. Simply be with what’s here, that’s it. You can never be more successful than being with what’s here right now. Living life as it is is the most successful you will ever be. The failure of any life is in doing what you think you should be doing as opposed to allowing the Universe to be your guide. If you’re being with life as it occurs, you are being guided. 

There was a short period of time when I first published my book that I got lost in the story of trying very hard to promote it. My thinking was I needed it to have the approval of others for it to be considered a success. My book and my life are now dedicated to spreading what the Universe has revealed to me by being with what’s here and not trying to get an unconscious world to understand a book about consciousness. I wanted it to succeed and I was gauging its success by the approval of others, not understanding their unconsciousness; this lasted about two months. Only a handful of people truly are quiet enough to know what it means to be guided by the Universe and it’s those who do that are focused on being with what’s here right now…

Self Consumed

We seek because the Universe calls us, we see because the veil of ignorance is removed and our energy is directed by the director of that in which we seek.

We are a product of the Universe. We are not a product of ourselves. We did not call for our creation, nor do we call for the time when it will end. Our existence is a product of the Universe and the energy transformed to awaken is from the Universe. This is why we can’t really do anything to transform ourselves. We can only do the necessary practice to allow our heart to open so the Universe can fill us, but even this is not of our doing, the practice itself is from the urging of the Universe.

When there’s an urge to practice it’s because the Universe is calling. The reason some practice and some don’t is because the noise in the head is so loud, the still small voice within isn’t heard. Even though our urging seems as though it’s from an outside source, we are connected to all of life so the still small voice can only be heard from the stillness within. Through our Conditioned Mind we are marred in our self consumption, but understand this too is an urging from the Universe, it’s just not one that produces love. Energy always is, it’s just a matter of listening to the urging and following where it directs you. We seek because the Universe calls us, we see because the veil of ignorance is removed and our energy is directed by the director of that in which we seek.

Spirituality is not magical for a selected few who think they’re special, it’s available to anyone who makes it a practice to listen to the urging from within. The Universe calls, but are you listening? If you think you are listening, are you hearing the true message or are you making up your own message to fulfill a self consumed urging? It takes much quietness to hear the Universe’s urging, but the alternative is to follow our own urging. Now that’s scary because most of those urgings arise because one is self consumed.

The Beauty of Spring Flowers in Italy

I had to light a log fire today so it was hard to think too much about spring flowers. For early May in Italy it is fairly unusual to need a fire; but we had torrential rain and the temperature really dropped. My animals were hugging the pet beds by the fire and I took that as a hint.

Wild Spring Flowers

Having had beautiful early violets covering the ground beneath our olive groves and the beautiful spot colours of periwinkles under the trees, the land is now covered in wild flowers. Daisies, dandelions and poppies abound. The last of the blossom has finished.

Everywhere we turn at this time of year we are surrounded by beautiful flowers. At the moment my garden is a mass of blue iris as shown in my image 'Beautiful Iris'. These are iris that I was originally given as a gift that I have lifted and propagated. They now grow as wild flowers along the edge of my woodland and under the trees. They love growing in the shallow mountain soil. What a joy they are to see each day. You can read more about my iris in my art blog.

Early Flower Display

Now it is the turn of the cultivated flowers to play their part.

Whilst the acacia trees are humming with the sound of insects and bees after the nectar from their beautiful white racemes of flowers other flowers, newly planted flowers are becoming established. Like this beautiful 'Early Flower Display'.

What a wonderful time of year for spring flowers. Our thoughts now have to turn to the summer heat and the flowers that will survive it. I will be buying my red geraniums very soon!
